In Matthew 7:13-14 Jesus gave a clear analogy about the narrow gate and the narrow way that leads to eternal life. And also the wide gate and the wide way that leads to eternal destruction. The most important question each of us must answer is, Am I on the narrow way that leads to eternal life or the wide way that leads to eternal destruction? The narrow gate is so narrow that we can only enter it single file. Individually. No church or any religion will fit through the narrow gate as a group. In John 14:6 Jesus proclaims that He "...is the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." Indeed the only way for each one of us to enter the narrow gate that leads to eternal life is through The Lord Jesus Christ alone. Ephesians 2:1-9 accurately describes our original condition and absolute need of a Savior. Each of us are or were "...dead in our transgression and sins...and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us...made us alive together with Christ...For by grace (alone) you have been saved through faith (alone); and that not of your selves, it is the gift of God (alone); not as a result of works, so that no one may boast." The Lord Jesus alone is God the Son who became the sinless Lamb of God. Jesus is fully God and fully man. Colossians 2:9 tells us that "...in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form," and Hebrews 10:10,12 explains that the only way for us to be made holy and acceptable to God is "through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all." Jesus "offered one sacrifice for sins for all time," Christ alone is the satisfactory and sufficient sacrifice for sin. There is no other way to be saved but through Christ. Acts 4:12 says, "And there is salvation is no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among people by which we must be saved." Christ alone is the narrow gate and the narrow way. Admit your absolute inability to save yourself through good works and through obedience to religion. Cry out to God to save you solely on the basis of Christ's finished work on the cross. He died for you. He took your place. "For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved." Romans 10:13 Trust in God's grace alone and cling to Christ alone by faith alone. There is no other way to be sure where you will spend eternity. All other man-made religious method of earning salvation are part of the wide gate and the wide way that deceives the majority of sincere people. Satan uses these methods to blind the eyes and close the ears so people will not accept Christ alone. Please, I beg you, for your eternal benefit. Ask God to save you because of Christ alone. Your life depends upon it! Life is like a vapor that passes quickly. Don't put this off. Call on the Lord Jesus Christ today!
